Position Title: Partnerships Associate (40 hrs./week)

                     

 Reports to: Partnerships Team – Youth Programs Manager

 

Schedule: Mon – Friday 8:00a – 4:00pm; unless attending AmeriCorps events or meetings. The schedule may include some evenings or weekends to support special events. 

 

 

Position Summary: The Partnerships Associate provides support to the Partnerships Team in the areas of compliance, communications, and special projects. Great attention to detail, writing and editing skills, and strong communication are essential to this role. The Partnerships Associate performs a variety of duties related to boosting distribution partners’ capacity, supporting compliance across the network, and strengthening communication with and among our distribution partners. The Partnerships Associate will be called upon to work with partners across the network. The Partnerships Associate will create monthly communications, support in continued updating of agency documents, and support the entire MANNA network of partners, which includes MANNA Community Markets, Agency Relations, and Youth Programs partners.

 

Oversight of other Persons/Positions: May supervise volunteers and volunteer groups on and off site.

 

Principle Activities & Responsibilities: The Partnerships Associate will meet weekly with the Youth Programs Manager to define a work plan; however, the duties listed below encompass the core responsibilities of the position. This position may also receive regular directions and assignments from the Director of Network Strategy & Partnerships, Agency Relations Managers, Agency Relations Coordinator, and Community Markets Manager.

           

Duties will include:

 

Program Support (50%)

The Partnerships Associate would support the Youth Programs Manager (YPM) with outreach and support to all partners. This includes working with the YPM to help solve partner challenges and strengthen relationships, help aid partners with compliance, support partners with capacity building, and assist with county collaboration.

  • Work with Youth Programs team to support partner compliance and inventory management:

    • Assist with submitting the “pack” programs’ weekly orders.

    • Identify and collaborate with new School Pantries; assist with onboarding, equipment setup, collecting and responding to feedback, and tracking monthly statistics.

    • Conduct compliance site visits to partnering schools, churches, and community sites across WNC.

    • Assist in collecting and tracking compliance documents (Partner Agreement & Food Safety Training) for all partners.

    • Assist with tracking inventory; product expiration, use rate, and projecting needs for all programs.

  • Help assess partner growth opportunities:

  • Policy review and update.

  • Collaboration with our Benefits Outreach team.

  • Determining other youth-focused wraparound services available.

  • Attend community collaboration meetings to learn about work being done in network to address food insecurity

  • Work with Agency Relations to strengthen partner collaborations with Youth Programs.

  • Work with Community Markets to provide added support and value to distributions.

  • Work with Mountain Community Insights to review county-level data and determine the potential influence that data may have on Youth Programs goals and logistics.

  • Work with the Benefits Outreach Team to coordinate education and outreach efforts.

 

Compliance and Administrative Duties (30%)

  • Assist in updating our systems with accurate partner contact information and hours of operation.

  • Support the coordination of regular department meetings (agenda development, note taking, coordinating logistics, prepping for meetings) 

  • Audit partner agency accounts for up-to-date and accurate documentation in preparation for the Feeding America audit

  • Assist in onboarding new partner agencies and setting up new agency accounts

 

Communications (10%) 

  • Assist in creating the bi-monthly Short Stack Newsletter.

  • Monitoring the Youth Programs email when YPM is unavailable.

 

Special Projects (10%)

  • Offer logistical coordination support for the Partner Agency Conference 

  • Offer logistical coordinator support

 

Overall:

  • Participates in Department, All Staff, and Special Event meetings during term of service.

 

Qualifications:  

  • Understands and is committed to MANNA's mission

  • Must possess a current drivers’ license and reliable personal transportation along with a clean MVR for insurability (regular travel within the 16-county service area is necessary in this position)

  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer operations including full Microsoft Office Suite. Intermediate level Excel skills are highly preferred

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • Effectively able to communicate with all constituencies including; staff, volunteers and the public

  • Possesses the ability to coordinate groups of volunteers in an organized fashion and is comfortable and demonstrates confidence speaking in front of groups

  • The ability to effectively serve as part of a team, is a self-starter, and is able to respond quickly to changing requirements

  • Has a consistent positive attitude, and a desire to learn the inner workings of a non-profit organization

 

 

Working Conditions: Because MANNA’s office location is going through extensive reconstruction this year, all Partnerships Team members primarily work remotely. The Partnerships Associate will also be primarily remote, but will have exposure to warehouse environments, local travel in a personal or company vehicle, and working at off-site locations in the field including a variety of distribution partner sites.

 

Physical Demands: Position requires the ability to occasionally lift and transport 40+lbs, the ability to operate appropriate load handling equipment such as pallet jacks. This includes pushing and pulling of product throughout the warehouse. While performing job duties this position regularly requires the ability of hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. This position is frequently required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The individual is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and move objects as described above. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
