Project POWER AmeriCorps (PPAC), a program of Children First/Communities In Schools of Buncombe County, connects individuals with meaningful service opportunities that strengthen nonprofit organizations and community-based programs throughout Western North Carolina.​ PPAC members help address food insecurity and other social determinants of health by building the capacity of local organizations. Through service in areas such as volunteer coordination, community outreach, partnership development, resource development, and organizational operations, members help strengthen the programs and systems that our communities rely on.​

Serving with Project POWER offers a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact while growing personally and professionally. Members gain hands-on experience, participate in professional development opportunities, and build valuable connections with nonprofit leaders and community partners throughout Western North Carolina.​Project POWER offers Full-Time, Half-Time, and Part-Time service opportunities, with varying service-hour commitments to accommodate different roles and organizational needs.
