Each year, tens of thousands of individuals serve with AmeriCorps programs to make change in communities in all 50 U.S. states, territories, and select tribal nations. A year with Project POWER/AmeriCorps is a unique experience that allows the member develop professionally and personally. PPAC members address social determinants of health such as food insecurity, basic needs, access to quality early childhood education, and academic enrichment for K-12 students.
​
Members serve 1700 hours over 11 months beginning at the end of August through the end of July. They spend the year, not only serving adults and children in their community but, participating in professional development training, gaining experience and building a network of community leaders.
